What the service processes
Kural AI is a free, open-source lens that grounds answers in the Thirukkural. It is built so that the downloadable server runs offline. Hosted requests have different privacy properties:
- No accounts. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to sign in to.
- No tracking. The site and the MCP endpoint set no analytics cookies and run no trackers.
- No stored conversations. The application does not persist question text or conversations. It temporarily processes the tool query you send. IP addresses and request counters are held in memory for fixed one-minute rate windows; expired entries are removed on the next request. Security logs contain event names and aggregate counts, without queries, IP addresses, or authorization headers. Hosting providers may process connection metadata and retain infrastructure logs under their own policies. Deployment settings and retention must be confirmed by the operator before public launch.
- Local-first. The downloadable server (kural-mcp.cjs, .mcpb) runs entirely on your machine โ no keys, no network, nothing leaves your device.
What the AI platforms see
When you connect the lens to ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, that platform's own privacy policy governs your conversation with it. Our endpoint only receives the situation text a model chooses to send for retrieval, and returns verified couplets.
Crisis honesty
The lens is not a counselor. In a crisis it is designed to surface real help first โ in India, the Tele-MANAS helpline 14416. Scope honestly stated: verified quotes, not verified wisdom.
